Take a change of clothes.
Follow her everywhere (this is important as she will need to punch you).
Dont bother sitting down.
Rub her back constantly (even whiles she is punching you).
Have a stash of chocolate bars and coke.
Get somebody else to take photos (you'll be busy rubbing and getting punched).
Turn your phone off.

Hope this advice helps. hehe (oh and be afraid, be very afraid) lol

Hey that’s not how they tell it is in the Antenatal classes, it is suppose to be calm serene and natural process. They didn’t tell me I would be punched and I would need a change of clothes now I am scared lol

You are there to be squeezed, pinched, slapped, punched and verbally abused. There is nothing calm about it.
Serves you right too because its all your fault hahaha

Yeah she's wanted Lachlan for a while now, Jack came from our eldest who has a thing for the Kangaroo Jack movie at the moment.

I was banned from calling him - Billy-Bob, Herbert, Dick, Ulysses, Shelby, Henry etc etc lol

Funny, my wife didn't punch or abuse me with either of ours. Or though she did nearly break the midwife's arm during contractions!

Hey mate!

Congratulations!

One of my friends had their third child last Tuesday (17th) at 3am!
She feels great that bub is out and is settling in well.
Watching her enjoy the miracle of childbirth is of great enjoyment to me.

So hope all goes well and enjoy this while it lasts! They do become teenagers eventually!

Congrats, I took my wife to hospital at 1AM this morning (waters broken). She's still there, going to induce him (her?) at 7.30AM tomorrow (Friday). First thing Im going to do is buy a newspaper so I can keep it for him from the day he was born (gotta be cheaper than one of those reproduction ones you can buy) She said she'll ring me when it's all over and I can come and pick her up. This will be our one and only child (for both of us) and truly a miracle of creation after what we were told initially. (that IVF was our only option at 37 and 40)
Just me and the dog tonight, he's asleep on my lap at the moment.

Congrats mate! I have 3 as well, and we will probably have number 4 in a year or so. Labour is an interesting experience. I must say that each one was different but at the end of it all, just glad to avoid the dreaded C-section. If I manage to have 4 without that, I will be happy!

I didnt break Eamon's hand when I had Toby a year ago, and I didnt abuse him as he was very good. I just made a fair bit of noise....

I hope Mum and bubs are well, Lachlan is very cute! Another addition to the Ford gang!

Enjoy him while he is small and helpless - a year later and that small, helpless newborn that was Toby is now a feral, house destroying feral animal! LOL.

Yeah you'd be suprised how many funny looks I get from nurses lol
They should be coming home from hospital tomorrow but will have to go back on Tuesday as he seems to have something wrong with his voice box. They may have to put him under a General and investigate it which is concerning considering he'll be just 9 days old when they do it....... but thats the wonders of modern science I suppose.

Well it seems our newborn has a paralyzed right vocal cord and is going in for surgery tomorrow. I'm still amazed at the operations they can do to kids at such a young age.
