When my cars been sitting for 2 or more days it doesnt wont to fire it just turns over and over then farts coughs then idles fine. it seems like its not getting fuel, dose the car maintain fuel pressure in the rails after the car is shut off? if so where is the check valve that keeps the pressure located.

maybe ignition problems a cracked coil enen a hairline crack) for example will get moisture in the crack once it finally starts the engine heat will dry it out and then it will run fine for now but if that is the problem it will eventually let go completly

Sounds like it could be a problem with the fuel pump itself, the rail does not maintain pressure once shut down, but the fuel pump should provide sufficent pressure to start the engine within seconds of you turning the key, try turning the key to ign for a few seconds before engageing the starter the fuel pump will be running in the ign position and if it is weak it might build enough pressure to start the car (it won't run for long though) I had a similar problem with my old DL Ltd, fuel pump put out enough fuel to idle the car but died when I tried to accellerate.

You sure its not over fueling? I had an EA falcon that was hard to start and it ended up being leaky injectors as I got the injectors serviced and the problem went away. Fuel rails do stay pressurized for some time after you shut the engine down. Ive had petrol spray in my face when removing a fuel hose off the rail despite being aware that the fuel was still under pressure

A lot of them do that, mine does it even after only sitting for 5 minutes sometimes so I think it's just the nature of the beast.
