if you are talking about the whole cd player?? u can get a tool out of your closet, just get a good strong coat hanger. bend it to a u shape. make sure they are kinda long. stick them in the holes then pull them away from each other and while u are doing that pull it out at the same time.

I had the same problem and ended up wrecking the internal stereo clips and had to rip off the plastic surround to remove the stereo.
Hopefully you haven't damaged yours. You're best off going to a stereo installer. They have all the tools and have done it a thousand times. They should do it free of charge. Save yourself the heartache. |

I did the coat hanger trick on my first AU, but on my latest one, I had to destroy the HU. Was a PITA.

Allen keys work a treat. There a bit tougher and don't bend

$80. what a ********* joke.
I had the stereo installed for that. Your best bet might be Ford spare parts. just rock up and have a chat to the blokes. They might be generous and do it for free. The plastic surround I destroyed cost $20 at the wreckers. If you are replacing the stereo unit just let the installer do the lot. Removal and installation , 40 bucks on each... hehe good luck |
