Hi All,
Getting someone to fit my extractors for me, but they seem to think you need to know the torque reading for the exhaust bolts to the head. I'm pretty much positive, you just tighten up as much as you can (it's not like it's a head gasket or anything), but can anyone confirm or deny this either way? When I bolted my last set of extractors on myself, this is all I did (ie just did them as tight as possible, no torque readings...), and the car was fine.... By the way, it's Pacemaker 4499's going onto an I6. Thanks, Justin.

It would be impossible for me to get a torqe wrench on 1/2 of mine.

Thanks guys - exactly what I would've thought.
I'm starting to get a bit worried now, as this guy's apparently a mechanic, but he's asking some pretty strange questions.... Basically he's after some parts I've got, and he hapenned to mention he's a mechanic, so we made a deal - my parts for his time!

There is a spec in the ws manual, I just don't have it handy ATM. Not much use though if you can only get to 9 bolts with the tq wrench and have to use a ring spanner for the other 3...

theres torque ratings in the manual for pretty much any bolt that goes into the head or block. you dont want to snap a bolt off in the head by going too tight!

I have always used a torque wrench on mine on all my cars.

Would anyone happen to know then what the correct torque reading should be?

i just did mine up tight, you'd really have to be trying to snap one of the bolts off....

Dont worry about torquing it up if the ****s not tight enough and it leaks id assume youd notice lmao

The correct torque is 27Nm but i doubt many people bother

There has to be a torque setting for every bolt on the vehicle
I just dont know how you can get to some bolts with a torque wrench |

See, I'd never heard of exhaust bolts having to be torqued up before. I wonder if any exhaust shops even do this.

Just do em up till the heads snap off then back them off 1/4 turn... always worked for my old man
