Default pinto sump damaged

hey im new here and i have a mk2 76 escort 1.6

i went and picked up a 2lt pinto just the other day and when i brought it home with my dad in his truck i used an engine crane and lifted it off. not realising my brother used it for somehting else, he shortened the front legs on it... : .. so i lifted the engine up, drove the truck out heard a huge bang and the crane base was vertical and the engine had hit the ground right on the sump/oil pan, so i immediatly took it off to see if it hit the crank or anything else and no everything is fine, it just has been impounded where the plug is, so that cannot be unscrewed, and the welds where the sumplug thread was welded in have snapped and oil leaked out.

so heres my questions anyway lol :

1 does anybody have a sump i could buy ?
2 will the 1600 sump fit the 2000?
3 should i try and bang it out?

thanks alot.

Was the pinto out of a cortina or an escort?

1 - can't help there- I got rid of all my escort parts.
2 - no.
3 - post up a pic of it.

I would have a try at bashing it out and repairing it. If all else fails it might be an opportunity to get creative with the sump and shorten it, weld on wings and add some extra baffles or try and find a RS200 cast sump. I would try the forum here as well http://classicford.mine.nu/forum/default.asp
