Thats is for me it would be my 2nd car a 1988 EA Spac in pearl green witha 3.9L CFI engine
I brought the car from delivery driver when i worked for woolies. He had crashed it then started to fix it crashed it agian then decided to sell it.I brought it for $350 (only had minor front damage bonnet, bumper, radiator support bar.) Then spent the 6 monthes fixing it (weekly trips to u pull it up there in lonsdale) had the front end resrayed and drove it for ther next 12months only problem i had was the idle postion sensor so $100. When i moved to perth and wasing coming back my parents sold the car that was 6 years ago and theres not one day i still regret that being sold. Mid last year i decided i was going to find it and buy it back. Did searches on here (AFF.) But my best lead was ringing the DPI in adelaide i talked to a nice lady there. the car wasnt written off but hadnt been registered in 2 years, but anyway i was able to forward a letter to the owner for about $30. about a week later the owner emailed me a few pics back and told me he had smashed in up in the hills. I really want to find that car in good nick again but it wasnt to be when i had it all fixed up with an nice set of 16inch speedy holotype R's on The photos i got from the owner after he had crashed it

my 2nd car a 67 xr 289 the bloke before me spent a lot of dollars on the interior, and i spent a few dollars on the engine .....sadly i smashed it pretty good ...something to do with speed and youth :(, i had it repaired only to be not too long after written off by a bedford van while i was stationery ....... hit hard enough to crease the roof (rear impact) a sad end for a neat car.

i bought a green 4 door escort as a parts car while i was building up the 2 door. i got i just after i first got my P's and drove it around for 6 months.
it was nothing special but it was my first (drivable) car and i had alot of good times in it. i ended up stripping it and giving it to the wreckers. cant be too sad though becuause thanks to it i have a good 2 door now

That ESP is a smooth looking unit, i'm crying for you.
My own regret is my zircon green XTGT, years ago, after i done a ground up rebuild on apprentice mechanic wages. The pain hits every time you see the price of one for sale. ouch. |

My datto 260z. @80 motor triple webbers went like off a shovel. One memorable evening i remember running rings around a XY GT along the black spur admittadly the guy was a rotten driver. Got married had to sell as it only had two seats in it no room for the kids. Traded it in on a 1988 EA S Pak 3.9 multipoint. Been blowing head gaskets ever since.
Cheers |

I have 2 big regrets.....
1 - XA GT Sedan, 4 speed, Polar White with Parchment interior. Zero options!! Low n' lovely with fat 12 slotters all round. Went great and is to date the fastest car I've ever had. Just drove so sweetly. On 5th June 1986 some lowlife decided to relieve me of ownership of it. 22.5 years later and I'm still spewing, hope the guys concerned have died awful painful deaths!! 2 - XC Fairmont GXL, 302 Auto, Desert Sand in colour. This was a really late one first registered in March 1979. A magnificent car in almost mint rust free condition, the only probs were chalky paint on the bonnet and roof. I'd put it on gas and was using it as a daily driver. I toyed with the idea of unloading it and going "modern" but saw sense and decided it was a keeper. Booked it in for a front seat re-trim and almost had the bucks together for a paint job. In July 2007 some idiot in a Hiace van decided that Red meant don't bother stopping. He ran into an EB Falcon, ripped the front off that, deflected off and head on into me. I was sitting at a red light minding my own business. It was a big hit. The right front wheel was almost torn off, the top rail mashed back to the shocker tower which in turn was pushed hard against the engine. There was also a huge crease behind the brake booster and the A pillar had deformed. There was no way this girl was gonna roll again!! As for the other driver..... don't get me started!!

Yep big regret selling 66XRV8 Fairmont Sedan. Had a sweet 289 lowered all the goodies like 12 slotters exhaust and chrome under the bonnet. Sold in for $1,900 so i could buy a fairmont XC V8 Wagon. I will get another XR soon as a project car

still, even if they were only worth what i got when i parted with them i still wish i kept them, they were so much fun. paul.

I don't regret getting rid of any of the cars I've owned, I usually sell them because I've gotten sick of them. Though at times I have missed my AUII XR8 ute.
