Default MK2 Escort 4 Door Advice

Hey there all,
Myself and the best mate have recently bought a MK2 Escort as stated.

The engine is blown and were going to get that going for the time being to run around. Amongst a respray and some other mods we're wanting to give her a heart transplant with something pushing a bit more grunt.

I've been searching around at SR20DE/T conversions and have seen them done but I was wondering if there's a step by step write up on how to do it and what mod's need to be done to fit it in. Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.

Also Im no 4 cylinder boy, so I have no clue about the Ford 4 cyl. Can some one explain the differences and what cars they come from etc etc?

Cheers guys.
