This is the story from earlier in the week, they should have today's up online next week. Got to love the ABC for getting all their TV and radio online these days.

My comment at the bottom under the video.

They all sound like "fully sick" morons and not a fast car to be seen.

Hence the reason they have nowhere to go when living minutes from Calder. :

Man oh man. To think I get pooled into the same definition as these people blows me out.
I think its awesome the police are cracking down on this sort of behaviour. The quicker they can destroy this kind of culture, the sooner our roads will become safer, and the quicker we can all stop getting picked on and get back to enjoying our cars as car enthusiasts.

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

I'd like to see a TV presenter go and speak to one of the properly organised enthusiast clubs, like one of the FPV Tickford clubs or something like that.

These clubs have a family focus on events, with strict rules and constitutions in place. Just once i would like some official clubs be given a chance to speak out and show that it is being done properly (at the track etc) with the proper courtesty and respect given to those on the road during road-going events.

Where is the hooning when a bunch of like-minded friends have their cars on display while eating a couple of snags and sharing a yarn at the park?

Just once.

But that isn't ratings TV is it? The truth rarely is...

Yeah but that's not scary. That doesn't strike fear into the camry driving folks who know nothing of what really goes on in the world, only what's spoon fed to them by ACA and TT

lets face it motorist`s in general are easy targets, we are the cash cows of the population, police are`nt the problem , they just do what the chief says, he`s just doing what his boss the commisioner says, the commisioner just gets told by his boss, i really don`t know who that is but i`m guessing now we are starting to get political dudes involved with agenda`s, if they can grab votes and brainwash the public while giving them the shaft with revenue raising they have no downside, radio stations and tv companies are out too milk the motorist /hoon cow as well or............... i`m completly wrong and just a cynical old bugger.

Totally agree. If I get a little squeal of the tyre off the line I'm a hoon... and this is what I'm expected to compare myself to? Please.

we're fighting a hoon epidemic that cant be won, because by labeling everyone with an interest in cars as hoons we can continue to fine, impound, confiscate, and even go as far as saying extort road users by making new laws everytime the road toll fails to decline, this in my opinion is similar to the anti terror laws introduced around the world, guilty until proven innocent, introduce a war you cant win, terrorism dosnt have a face, you cant beat it, you can always continue to say terrorism is rampant and we now need to listen to everyones phonecalls, track everyones movements and check everyones financials without consent, "hoons" are the new terror suspects on australian roads, you cant beat them, so lets just take everyones rights away until its just not worth the price of owning a car.

im sick of this rubbish.

people that die in motor vehicle accidents are not all hoons, sometimes its just unfortunate, its terrible and we cant avoid it completely, but by labbeling car enthusiests as hoons, just to make the general population hate us is not going to solve this problem.

sorry for the rant, that story annoyed me... and will continue to do so until the government actually adress the problem properly.

Carpet Bombing practice for our Aging F111 crews, would have fixed the "problem" right up.

there is no quick fix for this ... ****************** are ****************** no matter what they are doing wether it be driving, talking, breathing......the money raised from the fines should be going back into the destroyed comunities and driver education or into more motor racing venues not into the pokets of the state, fed government.... like most if it is now...
