Does anyone have a clue on how much it would cost to replace a rear wheel bearing on a AU XR6?
Or if you knwo if it;s an easy job or a big job? A car i'm looking at buying, it all looks good but thats what needs fixing, that and new tyres. so if its a big job and its oging to be very expensive, ill try bargain hard or not worry about it. |

Gday mate, if ya have a basic mechanical knowledge and a helpful mechanic, then there is a good chance you can probably knock it over yaself for under $200. How ever there are cases where the bearings won't press out and cause all types of head aches. Then if the Hub is in anyway damaged a new one is about $500 for ford.
If ya can do it, try yaself, or track down a second handy from the wreckers. I myself am about to do the 4th wheel bearing on my car, and can knock them out in about 1hr or so.

Seriously, you don't want to damage the Hub!
And if price is a issue then there is alway's non-genuine! Personally i prefer the Genuine gear, and only rarely do i look to aftermarket. |
