Hi
Car is a 1995 Mondeo sedan. I want to get some mag wheels and ditch the hubcaps. Prefer to source some 2nd handies, obviously the car is not that common so what other cars stud pattern matches the Mondeo's? ie. so I can possibly find a mag wheel that fits a common car and put on my mondeo. |

Fairly sure the Focus is the same (earlier models anyway)

is it 4 or 5 stud??
probably 4x108 or 5x108 and an offset of around +45 to +55

Hi
Got some more information. Apparently a 1995 Ford Mondeo is 4 x108 PCD, with 47mm offset. A Ford 2004 or 2007 model (one near me is wrecking) with 15inch alloy mags has the same PCD but 52mm offset. One tyre shop said you can never go up in offset as it will hit the suspension and drive like a bus but you can go up to 12.5mm down in offset. Another tyre shop called moments later, said no going from 47 up to 52mm is do able, just fit the rims to the car, lower it down and let it roll a few meters to ensure there is no scraping. What do any wheel rim/offset/suspension experts say here? should i post to the generic section? PS. Apparently a 09 Fiesta has the 47mm offset. PPS. Old Australian Cortina and Escorts ie. rear wheell drive models all have a really low offset around 15mm apparently so that would make the wheels sit far out from the guards illegally on a 1995 Mondeo with a 47mm offset. mate my XR5 MB (2010) rims at +55 went onto an XR5 LS focus (2006) which are normally +52.5 no worries.
the second tyre shop is right, but make sure of the clearance as i had that problem with a puegeot 306 i bought which had the wrong offset aftermarkets on it. scraped and wrecked both the inside lining of the guard and a set of rear tyres... :(
