Bringing an old thread up from the dead lol.. Can someone please post some pics of the vacume hoses from the blow off valve to where they connect too.
Also there is a fitting for a hose on top of the raptor as well would like to know if this is used at all.
Also can someone confirm the hose fitting near the oil cap does this also run into the charger since we block off the fitting on the throttle body.
Reason i ask we fitted up one today to my cousins vehicle but just need confirmation the hoses are in there right places as the documentation wasn't as detailed as i would have liked it.
Regards

For the BOV, just get a bit of vacuum hose from autobarn or something and run a t-piece connector from one of the vacuum hoses from the back of the manifold.

Does anyone know if you need an engineers certificate for one of these in NSW? And how much the certificate costs???

Thanks.

A member on Fordmods had a raptor fitted to his EB XR6 a while back. He had it engineered, and EPA tested for about $600 in NSW. Troyman is his username.

Hey Jason, The Raptor is good bang for buck.....................Mine made good power on the dyno but I'm not into dyno's...........The best down the 1/4 mile is in my sig but thinking the 12.44 pass was a bit of a fluke, have plenty of 12.6x and 12.7x time slips and it runs through the traps almost always at 110mph so I'm very happy. Hope that helps?

Enjoy your Raptor.

Regards, Craig.

No worries Jason, Yes Raptor is still on and has been on for two years now..........I have a second car so the AU is a just for fun thing so milage would be about 8000km with the blower on and in that time would have done around 70 passes down the strip.

No issues at all.

Regards, Craig.

Car has been tuned and driving for a couple months on a fairly safe tune.
Laid down 528.6 RWHP and 589ftlb on 12.8psi. Electronic boost controller has been hooked up and she goes back next month to wind some more boost in and chase 600rwhp

Guessing this is a full built engine?
Do you have any details or is it in your build thread?

No there hasn’t, I guess this is going to happen when you buy a 21yr old car and start reading AFF lol..

Is this Dave? So many names I’ve read I can’t recall.

I’ve been reading quite a bit, probably enough to become financial again.

It seems you have some good knowledge/experience in regards to what combinations work best for these little Windsor’s..

If I don’t happen to find the pieces to the puzzle, would it be ok to PM you in the future?

Cheers
Phill

Old thread but nearly sold on a Raptor. Wanting 400kw plus though. Maybe water and meth may do the trick.

You won't make that power with a Raptor nor with a stock 5.0 underneath it.

+1 with what BOTTLEDUP said.

You'll need aftermarket heads, intake, cam, injectors, E85 minimum and a lot of other supportive things to get that sort of power. Breathing on the AU windsor motors was limited even in XR8 guise.

Maybe 300kw is more realistic then? It is stock as far as the engine black and head goes I think. Just pacemaker extractors, 2.5' twin exhaust right through, high flow cat, K&N air filter. It's a 200kw (ute 2001) auto but goes like a 220.

Not sure what the guy did that owned it before me but he lived in Geelong and worked for Ford. I don't really want to change it too much and move away from the Tickford theme hence the Raptor. Maybe change the cam, been looking at Crow stage 3?

300 is possible. But you got to remember that while the engine can breathe out easier, it still needs to breathe in easier to take full advantage. The heads are the most restrictive part on the motor, followed by the intake. The engine is only as good as its restrictive area. Its like you trying to blow through a straw at full breathe capacity. The bottle neck is the straw in boosted applications. But because you are forcing air in, you'll still get benefits. Just be aware of the limitations of the intake and heads.

The cam sounds good if its this one. https://www.tiperformance.com.au/pro...3-cam-621371e/ I'd only get a cam if you kept it NA.

But you'll find the stock cam is pretty good on a supercharged engine as is and will still make good power to redline. Just make sure you get the matching springs and retainers if you decide to change cam.

I wouldn't mind one of these based on the price of them but am I right in saying they don't really whine much compared to other blowers?

I had a Raptor SC on a 6cyl AU a number of years back and the whine was subtle. You couldn't really tell unless you know what you were looking for.
