Thanks guys. It takes a long time to do but is worth the effort to keep a nice edited video of events instead of just straight footage.
I'll make up some more of other events I've been too.

Holy , best video ever. I don't know about that, haha! I just like to muck about with my cameras alittle. I don't like rushing things, so I take my time with it and plan it out first before getting stuck into them.

The Songs are
Song 2 - Blur
Metalica - Where ever I may Roam
Oh Yeah - End of Fashion
Pat Benetar - All Fired Up

I'll make up some more from previous events I been to and see what you guys think. The quality in my 2.6g copy is awesome but you lose alittle when having to make the file smallish enough to download.

OK, I'll be the bad man.

I thought it was too long personally. You could have fit all of that into one music clip. Stills only have to flash onto the screen for less than a second for people to register them. If you have them up for 2-3 seconds then people start getting bored. The volume seems to flare a bit when you change back and forth from video to stills.

I used to edit clips with just the music playing but I find if you have the right amount of bleed through with the sound from the action then you'll find the video more interesting to watch. I know that there was alot of stuff there and you might think it couldn't possibly fit into that amount of space, but cut the stills down to about 8 frames and see how much the project shrinks. You'll end up with a much punchier clip, something that'll really blow peoples minds. You just have to train yourself to dump footage that absolutely, positively, doesn't make the grade.

I'm not trying to put you down, I just think it's better for you if you learn something from what I'm saying, rather than me blowing smoke up yer bum.

Keep it up, practice makes perfect. I think you've got the right idea's you'll just need to expand on them. Be careful though, it can take over your life.

What are you using to edit on? What program?

Thanks mate.
Iam using Ulead VideoStudio 7.

I know what you mean about the pics can be quick to get the mind to register them. But I thought if I made it to the tempo somehow it would just add alittle to it. Plus if someone sees their car in the video or a car they like, I don't want them to have to pause it to get a good look at it. I'd rather them be happy with the amount of time they saw it and let the video run. By the way no pic was 3 secs long.

I had to muck about with the pics to video volume as for some reason it goes higher in pics. I can't control it, its the software. But I did try to adjust it but cutting and then changing volume levels in the song when it goes from pics to video. Still not quite right though.
I have made some with some "footage sound" being audible in the background before, but I just thought I'd try the whole music on its on this time to give the feeling. But your right, the car sounds sometimes do the job on their own.
I did cut alot of footage out beleive it or not. But I think I need to get more footage on the day so I can make it less when I edit it, so I have heaps of good footage, not just a few bits here and there and then have to add average stuff anyway.

Thanks again mate. All feedback is good to me

I must admit I haven't used Ulead Video Studio 7 very much but I do have it here somewhere. I like to use Pinnacle Studio 9 for web stuff and Premiere Pro for all my DVD stuff.

The thing with web mpegs is that people will watch them over and over again if they're interesting enough. So you'll find people may freeze it in spots the first time around and then they'll watch it all again without freezing anything, but they be less likely to do that is the whole mpeg is 13-minutes long.

Totally unrelated but I was at Supernats too, you can actually see me standing trackside with my video camera a couple of times in the video footage.

I would recommend that you get Studio 9 and play with that, it's pretty cheap and it can do some pretty funky stuff for an inexpensive program. It's good pretty good volume control too. In fact I used Studio to put together a whole dvd production (Street Commodores Level 2) so it's pretty capable.

If you have trouble finding it, try Digital Planet Technologies in Moorebank, I'm pretty sure they have it.

Great Video footage but for Some reason there was no engine noise on any of the drags or burnouts, couldnt work out how to turn the music down.
