Hey guys we've got an issue with an AU series 3 Falcon. When you go to start it you get spark on cylinder one but no spark on the rest, it turns over a few times then nothing.
The ECU and BCM have been swapped out to no success, checked earthing at both modules with no problem, replaced coil pack even changed engines but same problem. Car has 920,000km on the clock. Any ideas? I'm thinking smart shield issue. |

Maybe check the eec relay no 3 under bonnet fuse panel, fuses 6 (ignition), 7 (engine) under bonnet fuse panel. Fuse 10 (bcm) interior fuse panel. Other than the above, check smart shield wiring & connectors. Maybe another member can chime in? Good luck with it Big Damo.
cheers,Maka

Did you change the ignition barrel transceiver module along with ECU and BEM? The transceiver needs to be paired with the BEM. Is the smartsheild light (red stop hand) staying on when you try to start?

Thanks guys, looking at the car again on Thursday. They didn't change the ignition barrel transiever, can you program it to the new BCM with a scan tool?

in smareshiels you don't need to change the transducer in the barrel as the coding is in the key. but you need to train the new BEM and ECU to your keys using a scantool or you will get no ignition or injection. a symptom of using a key thats not coded is it will crank a few times ( sometimes it will fire) then it goes dead do this 3 times and it is fully immobilised

Almost identical problem. Turned out to be fuel pump relay.
For what it's worth.
