Default To paint or not to paint

Hi everyone

Like to hear your thoughts. From 3 feet away the paintwork on my navy blue Ef XR8 looks great. Get closer and there are many fine scratches which me and professionals can't get out. So given a good XR8 is only worth around $8-10K (been offered 8K and said no) would you repaint it or not. Or am I like my freinds tell me, just a bit ****.

I would agree with that, the value of the car is between 3k to 4k. You can get a BA XR8 for around 10k.

With the paint it will come down to a few things. Do you want to keep the car for a long period of time. Painting the car will not increase the value any more.

If you are looking at selling it next 2 years, I would not even bother. Get a detailer to do what they car.

If you are looking at long term another 5 plus years and keeping the car, then get the paint job done if you are not happy.

A paint job will set you back around 3k minimum.

Ef as oldskool that's pretty funny

Mate if the paint looks good at 1m I say that's pretty bloody good considering it's "oldskool" vintage

I wouldn't pay 10k + to squirt it, and let's face it if you want a paint that looks closer than 1m you'll be paying well over 10k
