Hi everyone as some of you may know i'm soon going to be doing a i6 to v8 engine conversion on my Au III Xr6. One of the thing that i've been thinking about is what badges i should leave, add or take off it so i thought i'd put it to a pole. Tell me what you think

the only difference between an XR6 and an XR8 is the engine if you have IRS so anything you do is fine if your car has IRS it will be an XR8 ( assuming you are fitting an XR8 engine)

I would say just remove the 6 badge and leave the others. Have you considered getting in touch with Ford and telling them of the engine change? they should then be able to change it in the details of your car.

As if Ford are going to change a car's build details! WTF! Next thing you know we'll have fake T-Series all over the joint.
Paint it red and put a freakin' Ferriari badge on it. Oh hang on, it's already red - there ya go - problem solved. Seriously ... good job, and I'd probably just remove the "6" and leave everything else the way it is. |

Because it's not already hard enough to find T series badges and stickers once someone nicks them off your car and then have to pay the ridiculous prices on eBay/from Ford and the like out of your back pocket.

I think dropping the number is a good idea. My AU only had the badges on the boot lid and the guards. Here's a pic of the 6 removed. Car shows were quite fun. With the kit, stripes and the twin tips, I often found people at shows with their head under the car trying to figure out what the car was. With the absence of the 6 badge and with me leaving the bonnet closed, it only added to people's curiosity.

I would go for xr8 and tickford badge or just the tickford badge. Not xr
It's got an 8 in it (will have), so why not advertised it!! |
