Good to see I am not the only one who does not understand the mentality behind applying the brake and spinning the tyres. It must be popular to be a flog as there are many cars getting around with stockies on the back for just such an occasion.

reminds me of a dumb young mate that would go to the back street drags decades ago and tear up the road towards the gathering of cars and people and do a hand brakey at speed, nearly taking out a bunch of people no amount of trying to talk sense into the dude would curb his foolishness, total DH.

Life is short, gotta have a little fun once in a while, just pick the time and place. Also, line lockers don't do much for me, I understand it has a purpose for warming the tyres for drag racing, but it isn't that fun. But when a car has so much power it just wants to burn rubber or drift without trying, yeah that can be pretty fun once in a while. I think people should look for other adrenaline-pumping activities too, so you're not always trying to fulfill that need on the street.

Stinky, I've been to a few burnout comps and have spent a bit of time talking to the pro's there - they view what this idiot did as dangerous, stupid and nothing that should ever be encouraged.
There's a big difference between a skid pad with safety marshalls, walls and dedicated areas to prevent injury, than a built up area where several people and families are just trying to have a cup of coffee or a gelato.

When you go to said burnout comps on the ticket it mentions the risks associated, and you waive your rights to seek compensation if you're injured - and most understand those risks and enter anyway, as they go the venue to specifically see burnouts.
On a public road on a Sunday afternoon no one is there to see burnouts, much less being to be put at risk by a wildly fishtailing datsun in the control of an inbred moron.
That's why it's rightly illegal, and punishable under law.
