Another month has just drawn to a close. Anybody willing to make any predictions about the numbers prior to the Vfacts data being released at the end of this week?

Gee I hope it was a better month than that! Some people will soon be singing for their dinners if the new car sales don't recover soon.

Territory is less than Feb 05 and less than Feb 05. Same with Falcon ute. Fiesta was over 200 units higher than Feb 05 and up on objective. Focus was down on both counts but March/ April will be big for Focus. Overall, I think Falcon has had a successful month as it is only just onder Feb 05. The only real worry is Falcon ute, and Territory could also be a worry but it will bounce back. |

Isn't the Holden One Tonner getting ceased? This can only mean one thing, increased sales for Falcon ute.

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the vehicle, its just that MMAL marketing stuffed up the launch campaign and the price of the vehicle on the market, combined together with heavy discounting from the Holden and Ford. |

Good to hear that Fiesta Sales have increased, Hopefully they end up having the popularity that they deserve. I guess the name just has to get out there.
I do beleive had they been marketed as a Festiva (Yuck!) They would have experienced some loyalty from old Festiva customers and therefore boosted sales. Same as Focus. Had they been badged as the new Laser (Yuck as well), then same thing may have occured. Nissan should have continued to marked Tiida as the Pulsar, as I don't think that under the Tiida Nomenclature that they will succeed. |

You'll find very little private buyers amongst the LWB crowd.. Most are taxis, hire cars or fleet. My guess there going for Lexus, Honda Accord Euros and the like |

I agree what you said about the Tiida, the Pulsar had a backing in Australia, and was reknown for bringing out a few hot hatches. The Tiida name and it's marketing is sure to get interest of the shopping trolley parent, but younger people. Nope. Its like Ford dropping the V8 but on a smaller level I'm impartial aobut the Laser vs Focus. My GFs grandad is a ex mechanic and was looking for a new medium sized car. He checked out his local Ford dealer asking about the latest Laser, but after he was told that name has been replaced he was no longer interested. Stupid I know but that how people are. The Festiva name I'm glad they changed. The Festiva in many peoples eyes was similar to an Excel - cheap. In the long run the name change will help the Fiesta greatly with resale. |

And the Mitsi workers are spruiking in the city mall on their off days. Extolling the virtues of the 380 face-to-face with the city shoppers. Now thats innovative and proactive! "Excuse me Sir, can I take a moment of your time to tell you about the Mitsubishi 380. I made four of them last week and they are a really good car... I know, I put the bits together! Trouble is they're roasting in the yard unsold now. But you know, you can pick one up for $5K off the list price with a few extras thrown in...... except for an LPG conversion. Please consider"

Falcon should do better than last month. the 380 should push at least 1500 units. Could we get the figures posted on here FF instead of starting a new post like last month. |
