You're right. From what I understand by Indiana law he could use private email to conduct official business but it is subject to public record.

Legalities aside it is what was used against Clinton quite a lot in the election campaign. Same **** as far as I'm concerned.
HA HA , no I don't work for the Government (lies I'm a Russian Spy)

There is no comparison between Hillary and Pence, at this stage anyway. But I will agree with you if say in 10 years time there have been millions of dollars spent investigating the 30 emails that were hacked by a Phishing scam and the case could still be under investigation.

No comparison at all !
And the four preceding secretaries of state did exactly the same thing.

Alternative facts?

Still waiting for Hilary to be arrested let alone prosecuted.

Speaking of alternate facts / fake news,

Could you enlighten us all and provide the names of the preceding secretaries of state who did exactly the same thing.

While you are at it, also provide the news report links. ( CNN ABC ) not accepted.

Colin Powell was one.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillar...il_controversy

There is a reference section at the bottom which links to the FBI report on the .gov website. Hope that is not "fake news"

Quote:
The report also reviewed the practices of several previous Secretaries of State and concluded that the Department's recordkeeping practices were subpar for many years.[44] The Inspector General criticized Clinton's use of private email for Department business, concluding that it was "not an appropriate method" of document preservation and did not follow Department policies that aim to comply with federal record laws. The report also criticized Colin Powell, who used a personal email account for business, saying that this violated some of the same Department policies.[44] State Department spokesman Mark Toner said the report emphasized the need for federal agencies to adapt "decades-old record-keeping practices to the email-dominated modern era" and said that the Department's record-retention practices had been improved under the current Secretary of State John F. Kerry, Clinton's successor.[44] The report also notes that the rules for preserving work-related emails were updated in 2009.[51]

You have come up with 2 out of your 4 !

Another two please.

Condalisa Rice and Colin Powel may have commited minor infringements, but they were never subject to a Congressional Investigation like Clinton.

Like comparing Trump to Hitler on the basis of the number of deaths caused !

A note on Wikipaedia, yes it is the basis for public knowledge these days. While the published information has public credability, the issue is what has been left out.

Maybe these were missing from Wiki ??????

Or were you engaging in fake posts !

Actually it was me.

Why aren't the others investigated? - you tell me.

I get my info from dark pubs in shady overseas countries talking to people who may or may not work in DFAT circles or work in foreign embassies etc.
These are the people who actually know and don't watch fake Fox news.

And no I'm not going to find quotes for your narrow minded news sources, you will only be happy with Fox/Breitbart.

And same goes for Benghazi. Since when has a Secretary of State became an embassy micro-manager?
Alternative facts again or just plain mis-leading people?

He's tapped phones before, just ask Angela Merkel.

Either gonna be a double facepalm moment for Trump, or a world of pain for the Left. Plus any legacy Obama thought he had will be flushed down the toilet.

Mark my words, whether you believe it or not, Trump will either be impeached and removed from office, assassinated, or what seems typical of him, he will open his mouth once too often and get his enemies off-side, which in turn is going to create conflict or war and quite possibly, Australia will be dragged into it. I would like to believe like many others that Trump has good intentions for the USA, but his loose lips and erratic behaviour will be his downfall.

I'm not being rude, but Trump is an old man. There is a high chance of the stress of being in the top job landing him in hospital. Need I say more?

AFAIK you need judicial oversight for domestic wiretapping in the USA. So in order for Obama to tap Trump he would need to order the FBI to do it and then they would need to obtain a warrant from a judge. In order for the Judge to give the FBI a warrant they need to have satisfied themselves that there is a good possibility for criminal behaviour.

You can't just do it for fun or because the Prez says so...

Interestingly Trump tweeting this has actually "confirmed" an investigation into himself... which is probably not what he wanted to do.

Oh and Merkel is German, not a USA citizen, so it's different.

But the real interesting thing is that just before the end of his term Obama signed an order which allowed sharing of raw data between agencies. So if the NSA or CIA had data, they can share it with the FBI.

When it comes to governments I find the idea of line tapping funny. The nsw government only use satellite phones. No copper network. Not that I'm in the know, I just used to do work for them.

Just imagine how the stress of the job would have done Hillary in by now.
But she had a few body doubles that would have needed to do a lot of work.

Who would have been realy pulling the strings if Hillary made it ?

I'm quite happy for him to continue making mentally unsound claims against the intelligence community. They'll entertain him for a while like you would a noisy child and then they'll start the removal process.

CIA has lots of form for successfully removing leaders/regimes worldwide. Shouldn't be a problem to do one more at home
