Just looking at getting some 19" rims 19x8.5 tyres 245/35. My car has been lowered King Ultra low. Anyone got a similar set up. Im trying to find out if the new setup will damage my guards. Im not sure if maybe i get 235/35 tyres instead.

I think 012 had the same set-up and the rear tyres fouled on something when going over bumps??

You should be ok on the rear with that width (depending on offset), but if you go wider the tyre can rub on the plastic cover on the inside of the guard. Pushing it out with a heat gun and a couple of taps with a hammer should sort that out. As mentioned best get the guards rolled.

Last I got quoted was $45-$50 a guard.. but that was when I was planning for 19's..
not really an issues with 18's. |

what do they do exactly when they "roll" the guards.. wouldnt it damage your paint?

and easy way to do it is to take a Jigsaw to the 90 degree lip and put little slices into it about every inch or so.. and then use a mallet to bend them back.. works a treat..
its time consuming though.. |

Getting my guards rolled tomorrow on my AU with a roller type machine that bolts on to the wheel hub, I also asked the guy if he does hot or cold rolls and tells me he heats it up first to soften the paint then rolls. Heard that is the better way to prevent paint cracking rather than cold.
Will let you guys know tomorrow and hopefully some pics. Also the gut tells me that if the paint does crack it's on the inside where you can't notice it. Mick

Excellent feedback thanks. Will cost me $60 per guard. For those that have 19" rims what size tyres do you have. should i get 235 or 245?

as Grunter mentioned the right offset is important.
I have 9.5" at the rear no worries at all. Front 8.5" no rolled gaurds, mind you I do rub if I drove agressively into a driveway or similar.
