This book came out in the shops around the same time as the Ford Australia one above but it's a big mess of a book. I think they did a bad job with this one. It's hard to read because it jumps around so much, whereas the Ford Australia one is a lot more straightforward.

Yes I noticed the same thing. Very hard to follow.

Great to have in the collection though and kinda special being a father-son collaboration.

I don't think it has been mentioned but there is a book out on Gelignite Jack Murray by one of his sons. He won the 1954 Redex in a 1948 Ford, and generally led a pretty extraordinary life. Title is "Jack Murray - An Aussie Larrikin Legend"

Thread mining...

Have just finished reading "A Spanner in the Works", the extraordinary story of Alice Anderson and Australia's first all girl garage. (by Loretta Smith)

As it suggests, a very informative piece of journalism re. not only about Alice but also how she and her family came to be in Oz, with some interesting connections to some well known names...

Hi Guy's
I read Allan Moffats book Climbing the Mountain which was really good book.

I am now reading Neil Crompton's book " Best Seat in The House" and that's a ripper and well written.

'A boot full of right arms' by Evan Green, on the Leyland P76 world rally cup car and the 74 london munich sahara rally. Amazing achievement by a very small aussie team, and the book is an excellent read.

Another vote for Moffat's book. I learnt a lot from that. Did you know he was first on the scene at the fatal accident during Australia's Cannonball Run? I'd driven past that monument a few times not knowing
