Ive seen coolant that was no longer liquid, it was sludge. Because the owner had mixed two different coolant together and they reacted.
There wasnt a coolant related part that didnt need replacing (including the engine)

The radiator in my car (which came out of another EA) had fluid of about that colour. It looked like coffee.

Haha, that's ok. I know the engine is in a ИИИИ condition. I've only had the car 3 weeks and the guy I bought it off was totaly clueless and never took care of it. |

Had a customer that went camping who's car developed a leak in the cooling system. Being the bright spark he was he took a bucket and filled it up with water from the creek nearby but included some of the sand silt silt and pea sized rocks n stuff from the bank.
We ended up getting a i 1/2 inch fire hose and putting it into the top hose and turning it on flat out. What came out was brown as coffee plus all the little bits of sand and stuff......it was like panning for gold !.....didn't kill the car either - unbelievable There is probably half the radiator core, 1/3 of the heater core and about 10% of the head dissolved in that coolant - what a time bomb......did someone say its got a cracked head ? |

Thats pretty bad but I have a mate who used to own a VK Bommodore and the thing looked like it had gravy as coolant.
It never hand more than a filters worth of oil and had a 3" exhuast. The thing made the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car look like an environmentalist's dream come true. |

seen somethin like that before. took quite awhile of flushing before it all went away. After that it was all sweet.
It was even stranger cos it hadnt been driven in a while and the engine was basically brand new. Probly our fault for causing so much dust round the shed with the bush bashers :P |

It's not the worst I've seen, but it's not real healthy either.
My wife had a 120Y which had really bad oil and water when she bought it. We changed the oil and it wouldn't start for hours. We left the radiator as we figured we offended it enough with new oil. Odly enough, we never had overheating problems with it. |

That is the dirtiest coolant I have eber seen. By a long shot. Looks like you are using mud for coolant. :P

Geez, that is not too bad, it still runs out, it is not mud glumping out like I have seen in the old days.

yeah true that... a lot of vt era commondores have that substance as coolant...
speaking of which, this is pretty bodgy, but not long ago, we had a carnival a mate bought for next to nothing to send it to get sold somewhere else, and it had cracked heads, the stuff was like that, only more coffee like... like a coffee custard... we flushed thew system a few times, put stop leak in it, and sent it off... dont worry i wasant involved in the selling side of it, was just doing the dirty work... literally... |
