Default 2L Cortina Head Bolt

Hey guys,

How have you guys got the head bolts out? I've used a torx socket (T55) with no success!! Is there a special socket or something?

Sorry bout the stupidity!!

Cheers,

You can get inhex sockets that are similar to the torx sockets except the socket body is made from an impact socket.
Grab a hammer and a large drift and give them afew heavy whacks before you try to undo the bolts.

thanx svo347 - rumour is its an XZN socket thingy, has 12 points (like the torx) & I believe 12mm for the head - there's a range of sizes & used on many european cars.

Hey again guys

Correct me if im wrong but an inhex socket is a hexagon shape. The head bolts on my 2l are a star shape. The head bolts have 12 point star and i was using a torx socket, 6 points, but it wasnt working!!??

frogscort: Did you get a XZN socket from snap on?

Cheers
