Question for everyone here who owns a Falcon/Territory
Do they all use the hook type wiper blades? If they do does anyone have the dimensions of the hooks and can confirm? Usually this type of wiper blade is 9mm long, 3mm wide (or 4mm wide) What model is your Falcon and what wiper setup does it have? |

I put Trico on my FG a few weeks ago and to be honest im not happy with them, they perform well enough but just feel sloppy in the fitting compared to the factory items.

Anything designed for use on both 9x3mm and 9x4mm hook will have that sloppiness with that little bit of side to side play you get.

$40-$45 for a front set seems to be the place to be, I'm assuming you're all buying online via eBay and receiving said wiper sets in the mail?

Thanks for all the legwork- too easy (Although buyers remorse had me thinking another $25 for OEM was the ticket right after I hit the buy it now button) Last edited by 383hq; 12-01-2022 at 09:02 PM. |

I guess there's going to be a lot more excavators and forklifts getting around with beam blade wiper blades on them The light vehicle stuff is so cheap in comparison, the stuff on bigger excavators, trains, trams, ships et al you're paying $300 per blade..... and you can't refill them. If said new industrial range just happens to also suit Falcons, Commodores et al..... I guess they need to be around $20 each FG/FGX went away from the E series/AU and B series wiper sizes of 550mm long for both driver and passenger, to having 500mm passenger and 560mm driver length blades. Wonder why the change for something that ran for so long? Braumach drives a hard bargin with free freight. Its interesting comparing what things cost on light vehicles compared to other platforms, the more what you're repairing costs the prices exponentially increase for everything, curious to see what consumables cost on aircraft, anyone here fix planes? I cant remember the length now, but when I fitted new wipers to the XF Pano, I used a longer one than the factory recommended on the drivers side. It made a much nicer sweep for me to see through (I'm tall).
Factory fittings arent always right for you. |

Truck stuff is reasonably priced compared to some car stuff. example.. I can buy rear drives Spider (5 spoke Dayton) wheel drums new from Kenworth for around $120 ea. I think they are a little wider than the XF panel vans. Tried to bend the pano's wiper arm hooks to fit but they just break off.

Then there's the massive array of clip types, is it 9x2mm, 9x3mm, 9x4mm, 6mm clip, 12mm clip, 14mm clip, 16.5mm clip, 22.5mm clip, 25.6mm clip?! K200 cab over uses 16.5mm clip blade from memory Imagine a world where everyone just used the good ol' 9x3mm hook like the past 40 years of Falcons With truck stuff, volumes are lower than light vehicle and the companies appear to work together with standards, at least in comparison to light vehicle where every man and his dog has their own standard for the same thing - CAN communication protocols for example, commercial, industrial and marine uses SAE J1939 and its across everything, from truck, bus, marine, stationary engine platforms et al. On light vehicle Ford uses MSCAN and GM uses GMLAN - why? Even if you look at trucks with disc brakes, they all use various 'off the shelf' calipers from OEM's in that sector, there's not that many variations of brake calipers on trucks in comparison to cars. K200 has a much deeper curved windscreen than the older K100 series flat glass. off topic....Yep sharing components helps, for instances, I can use new Isuzu front shocks on my old Ford Traders.
