That would be good then, I was only going on research I've come across recently and how it was an issue previously, ARB have said in the past that their long range tanks and the Long Ranger ones were ineligible to have the factory DTE working, it still states this on their website though as pasted below.

Other Modifications: Distance To Empty Will No Longer Function With A Long Range Fuel Tank.

I have changed a few in town here for people I know to suit ARB long range tanks. They have come straight from ARB who have said it can't be done. 5 minutes later with Forscan their DTE is showing over 1000km.

I believe there is a partnership between ARB & Ford now, so perhaps more communication for things like this

The PX3 I'm currently driving has the ARB Long range tank in it 140 litre. Its programed for the extra range but the actual gauge itself reads wrong for the first 1000 kms I reckon. I can do 400 kms without it moving off full its a bit annoying.

Hopefully they did fix this in the new model as it is definitely handy. My Bi turbo can do 1500 kms no problems on one tank which is nearly from Brisbane to Melbourne!

No I did mean Expedition, seeing as it's a proper separate chassis 4x4, not monocoque like the Explorer. Although the Explorer is a better size match. If not still a little bigger than Everest.

Thinking about it again it's probably more likely due to the Bronco 4 door existing.

Pricing will be interesting. Jeep went up $20k for the new Grand Cherrokee. And Toyota up to $30k on Sahara. Ford must keep the price reasonable.I expect Everest Platinum to be around $90k. I hope to be proven wrong.

That would put it in line with Prado Kakadu which is currently about 94k drive away (and a much lesser car).

My guess is:

60k for RWD Ambiente 2.0
64k for AWD Ambiente 2.0
68k for Trend 2.0
72k for Sport 2.0
75k for Sport 3.0
85k for Platinum 3.0

All drive away.

Why do people keep comparing Everest with Prado, when Toyotas ute based 4x4 is Fortuna, others being MUX and Pajero Sport? Not having a dig, I’ve always wondered this.

Because if you're shopping for a 4wd, if you dont want a ute, whether something is ute-based or not becomes irrelevant. You want something that carries people and stuff and is 4wd. The platform doesnt matter.

You will be waiting a long time…. I’d put a deposit now fully refundable when final spec and pricing released.

Looking for a delivery sometime in 2023 but I’ll put my name on one early - probably a V6 Platinum at this stage

Because they are the most comparable of the lot. 3500kg towing and v6 are the game changes, puts the Everest above the Prado now.

Don’t forget the Prado shares it’s driveline with Hilux….

My dealer had about 12 pre ordered before the release. They should start coming through in Sept we believe.

Be really interesting how the 3rd row compares against the XC90; I can fit and I'm 6'2". And the second row width. That was what I didn't like about our 2017 Everest.

X5 makes sense though.

I would have once laughed at that, but the new V6 makes it plausible.

And I've wondered the opposite. Everest is quite clearly marketed as an Everest competitor, comparisons have proved that the Everest is streets ahead of the Fortuner and Pajero Sport and is a match for Prado. This new generation moves the game ahead.

They're both ladder-on-frame 4WDs. They are directly comparable.

Prado & Tacoma are on same platform so technically Ute based from another motha……
Also, Ford actually benchmarked T6 Everest against the Prado, not the Fortuner….

The fact that Toyota has never merged its two Utes and SUVs says a lot for regional influence…

very similar power/torque to our X5, if it has the same low rev smooth instant torque response it will be a nice drive

Technically the Fortuna is the closest competitor, but in reality it's junk and one of the only vehicles Toyota sell that you could call a sales failure.

I guess it's because they are all in the same sales category, so they are direct rivals. Stealing Prado sales is a goal anyway i'm sure.

I really like this. Ford kicking goals with this and the new Ranger. I'd love to think they could make a Everest Raptor model.
