I've pretty much got the classic Fords I want, what I find is it's the space that is the limiting constraint. The years of "oh, imagine if I had the Ford xxxx model" are over, as I've got them - and it took years to find/get them in travels all over the country. I'm satisfied.

I wouldn't say no to a late model Territory for the runaround duties to evolve our current one.

First car was an XK station wagon. 144cui (Gutless). Three on the tree. No synchromesh in first. Vacuum operated wipers. I have no desire at all to own another. But was a good learning experience. I had disassembled and reassembled almost every part of that car by disposal time. Next owner bought it for $150 to part it out but kept it and junked his as it was in such good condition.

I recently experienced the "rose coloured glasses" effect with a 2WD TX3. Back in the early 90s we thought they were so cool. One of my uni friends still has his one - left languishing in a shed on his parents property for the best part of 20 years. He got it back on the road during some COVID down time. I had a drive of it a few months back, and the excitement was quickly pushed aside by disappointment. What we remembered as awesome (especially the torque pull in 2nd gear) was nowhere near as great in reality.
From what we're used to now, they're quite a crude car. That being said, an AWD one would still be a nice experience. I quite liked the Telstar TX5 Turbo back in the day too, especially the Ghia with the VFD instruments.

My list is a bit more "modern classic" and relatively attainable:
FC LTD Cartier 351 (had one, stolen in 2001, never recovered).
XF Ghia or ZL LTD.
EB XR6 Sprint in Cobalt blue
EB or ED Ghia V8.
DCII LTD V8
BF LTD
FG GT-E (Miami).
FG-X G6ET

I would love to own a few fords, but on always sticks in my mind.
when i was a young guy 19 years old my mate ( who later in life was my best man when i got married) his father who was a Ambo driver had a ZC Ford Fairlane which was a 351.

he had it for a while but it was in top condition and sounded great. id always loved that car and never got a chance to buy a fairlane.

I always wanted an XC V8. Unfortunately, they are all silly prices now. May as well put the cash towards a Tesla Model 3.

The other car that I always wanted is a Turbo Territory. Good news is that their fuel bill is scaring away a lot of potential buyers, so prices are reasonable. Bad news is their fuel bill.

very late teens I used every penny I could lay my hands on and bought one but I was swindled, the previous owner said all sorts of things about it, they all appeared true until using it around Christchurch streets what a disappointment it was.
Unfortunately it had an accident with a tree and thankfully insurance paid out.

Yet another classic Falcon in the local Tassie community here and another I'd be happy to own ..

The other day I was told of the newest 'local'.. An XB GS Hardtop in Red Pepper ..with the 302 I believe .. The bloke who's restored it has done it all himself I understand . Can't wait to see it ..

His brother runs the local Ampol and here's what he has . 1973 Lincoln Continental (think it's a Mk3) with the 460 . 1965 Galaxie with a 390 .. XB GT 351 which was a feature car at the National Auto Museum in Launceston , His old 1970 flatbed F truck still in great original condition , a V8 Leyland P76 , A Jeep Grand Cherokee and his most recent a lovely tidy maroon V8 Fairlane .. There's a XT or XW Falcon involved too owned by their father .

If you're ever in this neck of the woods around the June Long weekend just remember we have this incredible mob called The Cranks and Tinkerers in St.Marys Tasmania . About a dozen years ago they formed because they all owned something that were just beaut , many old and classic and all much loved and enjoyed . They came up with the idea of having a local car show not in summer like most are but in winter around the Queens Birthday Long Weekend . The initial show started with a handful of cars which only a few knew about to now over 300 cars , lots of classic motor bikes and also now a Pedal Car section .. Shannons and other great sponsors now make it a substantial show with some great prizes , great food and coffee , music etc etc ..

No doubt the Red Pepper XB GS Hardtop will be another new addition to 300 plus other much admired classic cars and drool over and wish I could get something similar one day ..

Interesting, I havent driven my ZF in nearly 3 months and I have many times when I think I am better off loading it.

Then I open the garage, for a split second wished it was concours, but then get over it and I dont think I can sell it yet.

Im concerned about future $$ and ability to restore it if I choose to but for now it will just have to live with its battle scars.

Yeah same here, I hate SUVs but would bang Ford Territory Turbo I reckon.
