Default The Today Tonight Crusade Continues

I know this has been done to death, but F'ing Today, Tonight.

Cars Enthuasits are hoons = P platers = antisocial = drunken violent/ Middle Easterns. Pretty much car enthuasists are violent drunk anti social gang members

Insert a few hard copper lines and Skyline and WRX burnout footage worthy of Harold Scruby's blessing.

Man im sick of mainstream media - and on another aspect id hate to be an ethnic living in Western Sydney; they are in for hell with all this racial sterotyping and police profiling.

In mainstream media we're always represented by the worst. What are car clubs doing, shouldn't they be showing the best of us? i.e. friendly social get togethers, famliy outings, car shows, charity runs, etc...

There just reporting whats happening, they were invited by NSW Police.
Repeat offenders maybe they should learn to leave there mufflers on.
I was in Western Sydney twice this year, and every 3 rd car has a 4'' pipe and ultra noisy exhaust.
My wife commented are these little cars and loud exhausts on sale around here.

Problem with that is it rubs off on all cars, I cant believe the cozy relationship the police have with the media these days, cops get sensational stories for the media and in turn when they want some flashy new toy or a pay rise or some new totalitarian law the media gets right behind the campaign, problem with this is that they wont ask the real hard questions of the police, do you ever read the stories of police chases that end in an accident?in every single one the "pursuit was terminated just minutes earliier".

Today Tonight and A Current Affair are not new shoes. Thats comparing a Gossip mag to a newspaper.

Its one step above Jerry Springer....just..

Today Tonight is a wonderful program, and the host is a pillar of the Australian Community.

Shes always there to tell me who to hate/who hates me, and who to be afraid of, and most importantly she tells me what I want to hear.

Why would I ever bother to read real newspapers watch real news or do any research of my own, when I know Naomi would never tell a lie.

God bless Naomi.

When they run out of news stories, they either regurgitate a "Car Hoon" story or "Interstate truck Driver On Drugs" story.

Same old same old

I wasn't saying it doesn't rub off on all cars, I was saying I'm glad I didn't see any Fords there.

Its like any group these days getting labelled as something there not because a few people from that group do the wrong thing then it gets media attention and then it blows out from there.

I thought commercial current affairs was cr@p and turned off years ago,(not bad advice if you don't like what you see).

But it sounds like I better get me some Naomi, thanks for the tip HTCURRY :Reverend:

It's typical Media Bull Shyte...Look at the stories of dog attacks? How many attacks went to air that WERE NOT done by Am-Staff's (American Staffis/Pit Bull Terriers) = Virtually noone!!
And look at what the Govt. did in response....Banned Pit Bulls etc, and forced a lot of Bull Dung rules and fees on existing owners....

The Media usually only shows one side of the deal, or is totally biased in what they show to obtain ratings. I refuse to watch these shows, and the only way i would watch the show was if Naomi was to present the stories naked, and then would only watch 1 show.

I thought one of the points was about "P" platers....and its association with "hoons", lets be honest , not every "P" plater is, but come on, allot are.

jesus when I was a "P" plater i was.... cept I had a sh1tbox... wish I had a nice car like some of them.

Its been around a long time, and will always be around... ask someone old about there days... happened then, just with less mod's ;) agree its sensationalised, but every capital city probally has a group of guys hooning around certain st's..

another thing, I aint racist, I have european cousins... but lets be honest, certain ethinic people do have certain kinds of cars... even skips do...

i could not give a toss if there just driving around i love cars and see what people can do to em or the classics chev's, gto's etc , but doughies on a public street with cars either side is a bit ummm of a worry..

As long as the car is safe, then yes.
If get defected for insufficient water in the windscrean bottle, then that's wrong.

TT and ACA will scrape the bottow for pathetic storeys as long as people watch.

I missed this story last night but it isn't anything I haven't seen before and the descriptions of the program don't surprise me.

I am ethnic (Maltese background), live in Western Sydney and have an interest in cars. So I am the big stereotype, but funnily enough, I have never been a hoon. What bugs me is that it is only a small miniority who are 'hoons' and who do the wrong thing and it's programs like this which give the rest of us a bad name. What they report on does go on, the illegal racing, the gatherings of groups with hotted up 4 cylinders, etc, but not all car groups are like that and it would be good if once in a while they could show the good side of car clubs.

If anybody here is a member of a car club maybe they could contact a current affairs program, take them for a gathering and show them what true car enthusiasts really get up to. It would be interesting to see if they would air it.

I only watch ACA/TT so i can see what the boys on the Chaser are talking about when they tear strips off the current affairs programs.

Perhaps if the chaser was as popular in suburban Australia as ACA was, some people might have a clue???
