do you think a moderator should close a thread because he is bored by the topic?

i have had a thread with a poll closed because a moderator was not inteested in the topic. The topic was in no way offensive and to the best of my knowledge was in breach of no rules it expanded on another poll that was somewhat limited and exclusionary that thread is still running despite being told that it too would suffer the same fate as mine : . the thread was only open for a few hours and received 36 votes in that short time so do you feel we should be allowed to discuss any topic related to our AU falcons providing it is not offensive or insulting? I have a feeling that this one will meet the same fate as my previous one but we will see if the moderator concerned ( no i will not name him ) has the courage to receive the feedback of the members who after all make up this forum.
