Default AUII Transmission flush & oil cooler

G'day All,

Great and informative site you have here. spent most of last night browsing threads re auto transmissions.

I recently picked up a 2001 AUII XL Ute with 128k on the clock. log book shows that the transmission was last flushed 2 years ago and as this ute will be used for regular towing, i want to have it serviced prior to use.

i am fairly confident that i could do a quick 5L oil change with a service kit myself, but im leaning towards getting a full flush done this time, then doing the service kit every 45k myself.

i also want to have a oil cooler fitted.

CATS in Sydney quoted me $220 for the flush and $385 for the cooler (supply, fit & gst). Is this a fair price?

i know i can pickup a cooler kit from supercheap for approx $100, but since this ute will be used for business, im thinking of getting the pro's to do the install. is it worth saving $285 and having a go at the cooler myself?

Thanks in advance,

Joe
