Default Oil pressure gauge problem solved

I've had a constant problem from the day I bought my T1 TE50 with the oil pressure gauge dropping to zero then the warning light and chime come on. Have had the oil pressure tested, pressure gauge replaced, replaced oil with different viscosities, been to Ford for the official fix (which worked for a couple of months then started again.) I even asked Ford if they could wire the gauge up like the series 2/3 so it always reads 3/4.
I got bored this weekend and decided to replace the battery terminals with some nice looking gold plated Aerpro ones ($19 ea from Autobarn). The wire coming from the alternator bracket is the one Ford put in originally to fix the problem.

Took the car for a cruise up the highway and found the problem has been sorted. Looks like the whole time it has been an ordinary earth problem at negative terminal.

Thought this may be of some interest to other series 1 owners as I've seen a few posts recently with this problem.
