My current Race/Roadcar is a MK1 Ford Escort, powered by a BP DOHC engine on 45mm Webers. It is basically standard, apart from some mild headwork, cams and extractors.

Ok, the gearbox is the Escort item at the moment. Will be upgraded to a close ratio 5 speed later in the year (probably a Quaife type unit)

I can assure you there has been no expense spared on the engine. Unfortunately the class I run (improved production cars) does not cater for a turbo'd engine in an Escort.

The Conrods are light weight Carrillos. The pistons are high quality solid skirt items, modified for the Cams by Special Piston Services. The problem with turbo pistons for this engine is that they are low compression, which is not what I am chasing. Comp ratio with the Nissan items is 11.5-1 + , which is whats needed for the Camshafts I have (they work from 5000-9000rpm, peak power will be around 8500rpm). The engine has been fully balanced to suit the light weight conrods etc. The valves are Ferrea items, originally suited for a Nissan engine (collett groove modified to suit), as the standard Ferrea valves for this engine were not big enough. It has Mazdaspeed cam wheels also. The cylinder head has had countless hours of portwork and modification, and flow benching for the best results.
