Default 220kw XR8 Engine into a Fairmont Ghia

Hi All,

I have got my hands on an engine from a 220kw XR8 and would like to do a swap with my AU3 Fairmont Ghia V8 (175kw engine).

I know it would be easier to just increase the output of my motor but the XR8 engine has below half of the k's of mine (70k V's 155k) and I also got it for a good price. I can always just sell my engine to recoup some of the cost (If not all!).

The XR has a 5 speed but I want to keep my auto.

Couple of questions for you regarding an engine change;

Do you remove the gearbox/trans with the engine?

Will there be any problems swapping an AU3 Fairmont Auto V8 with the 220kw engine?

Where's the best place to lift the engine from? I have been told to attach the chains to the exhaust bolt holes.

Any other advise you may have regarding an engine swap would be appreciated.
