We did go the F3. Timing was a big issue getting up and back (fitting in with other people etc) so going the Pacific Hwy was out.
I agree that doing 80 in a 110 zone is a pain, but he law is the law. With 3 lanes most of the way we got overtaken by everything (including trucks). My big issue is getting all those hours in the book without: 1. making hours up and 2. 100s of little 15 min to the shops and back driving on the same road very time to get milk (just to get more hours in the book again) I spent more time talking to my son about cars and driving going to Canberra and Belmont than I ever did at home with Foxtel, phones and the Internet getting in the way as per usual.
