Every now and again when i drive past minchinbury car city, i stop in, have a look around and go for a test drive. Yesterday i took a ls1 for a test drive. An old couple grabbed me in the lot and asked if i wanna sell a car and if i could help them. I told them i didnt work there and i was a customer.
As i was out thrashing the ls1, the old couple were test driving a ford territory. I looked at the territory earlier, 04 model, 157,000km, scuffed up steering wheel, asking price was $16990. Inside looked rough, seats were ok but dash and trim marked up. As i pulled in with the ls1 they pulled in with the territory, the old couple jumped out of the car and told the salesman ill take it? No negotiating or anything. The old couple walked past me and said we bought the territory. I was thinking (your getting ripped). The salesman basically ignored me which i didnt care as i wasnt buying. Did the old couple get hit for a home run? $16990 for a rough high km territory. Even the ls1 i test drove was a 05 berlina 5.7 with 112,000km and they asked $14990. It was a bomb car (the vz ls1) but **** all over the territory they bought. My mate traded his 05 territory at mitsubishi, it had 107,000km diff clunked, gearbox was hopeless when cold and he got $11,000. Imagine how buggered the 157,000km version is and they handed over $16990 Is there one born everyday? |
