Default Tickford Premium Caliper logo...

i recently picked up a complete set of series 2 tickford premium calipers still in their original red. Now some of the red paint has start to flake off or has been chipped off and around the logo as well. It looks as though the logo is not even engraved into the caliper, only engraved into the paint??? Because where the paint has come off near the logo there is no deep groove in the caliper outlining the tickford logo... It looks like the logo has been sort of reverse stenciled on?? i am worried that when i strip the paint off the brakes the logo on the calipers will not longer exist??? when i have seen pictures of other calipers it appears that there is a significant groove for the logo... Im confused.
