Default 2007 XR4 Plastic Manifold

Have any XR4 owners had the plastic manifold crack on the Duratec ST engine? This results in the engine idling high. If so, how have you resolved the issue? I have been quoted $1600.00 for a new manifold plus labour to rectify the problem. Research has shown that this is a problem with the plastic manifold.
