Default atari problem

Hi

just bought a atari 7800 and powers up fine but theres*a problem.

the atari 7800 doesnt*read any cartridges at all, every time you put a cartridge in it doesnt read it, it loads a built in game*asteroids, thats it* *

was wondering what likely reason would be.

would capacitors likely be reason or what would it likely be.

also can you add a hdmi mod or can you only buy the av mod for the 2600/5200/7800 atari and you just buy av to hdmi adaptor if you want hdmi.

the atari doesnt*read any 2600 or 7800 cartridges*and was repaired in 2007 and a standard dc socket was soldered in and the original socket removed

Have had it plugged into a led tv with analog and digital tuner and switched it to analogue, it had picture on one but not on another with same specs.

Thanks
