ok, here's the answers. the pipe sits about an inch above the base plate to help prevent sucking in water in wet weather. If rain is extreme I can always turn the pipe around and fit factory air filter. the breather pipe coming out of the rocker cover will be shortened and have a small oil breather filter attached. the base for the shaker will have a drain pipe so its not to fill with water. Basically I have been planning this for a while now and have thought of every solution for every possible problem with this setup. I will be getting a K & N filter for it.
costs... shaker top, bonnet ring, and seal $150 delivered air cleaner assembly $40 pipe $100 quotes on this pipe ranged from $70 - $200 This is my CAI setup for my series 1 standard bonnet, I will eventually change bonnets hopefully to a series 2 with a bulge which will have a different setup due to more space to play with. |
