Is it just me or do you get in trouble for farting while in a car now ?
Admittedly we all (or at least most of us) have a time or two where we do something stupid in a car that is bad, perhaps very bad, and as a result we are caught and get a fine by the police (ok sweet as) But now I am almost to scared to even start my car for fear of being prosecuted, driving down the main street off town seems like a 50/50 luck of the draw, (will I be pulled over today or not ?) Two days ago I was fined $240 and 2 demerit points for doing an overtaking manoeuver on a 2 lane road because of a 90 year old driver in his broken kingswood traveling at 25km/h (all the while keeping under the 60km/h speed limit) The police man said it was an illegal act because while preforming this manoeuver he could for a second, perhaps two hear the faint "note" coming from my car, Yet my exhaust is within the 90db regulations. What about all the other vehicles that are twice as loud ? a Turbo Diesel 4WD ? I come no where near there sound, yet Its the V8 driver who is singled out along with the skyline up the road for "willfully" doing this, that or the other. I can't help but feel that the law has reached a bias extreme. |
