I went and had a look at a 1985 Sierra XR4Ti today. This car is in storage and hasn't been driven since 1997. It's got about 31,000 miles on the odometer.
I'm thinking of buying it, but before I commit myself I thought I'd ask some questions. Since the car hasn't been driven in a long time there's a good chance I may be replacing parts that may have perished, or dried out. How available are things like master and slave cylinder parts, even brake pads and shoes? I know panels will be almost impossible to source, but I'm looking at the general wear and tear parts. I'm keen to give this car a go, but don't want to buy something I can't drive. Here's a few pics, as it stands. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to grab my good camera : |
