Default mk1 escort wiring issues

Hi all,

im new to the escort scene. got a mk1 2door which i am trying to get
on the road but I cant get any of the lights to work!

no of the indicators, tail lighst or headlights work. i've replaced all the fuses
and checked all the globes.
I rewired the rear harness as it was a mess (previous owner had towbar and just cut into loom to hook it up) and i know its all good as i used a factory harness and mtached all the colours up.

Does the loom need to be earthing at the back by the tailights?? there
was no wire for it and the manual i have dones seem to note an earth
point anywhere... any suggestions??

much appreciated.

Scott.
