Default V8 TE racing suspension

Hey all. I have just finished building a TE with a 302 Windsor in it. I am using it for club sprints and at the moment it handles like a dog, i have currently got V8 XY front springs in it. Does anyone else have the same problem or know of good suspension that will fit? of course i could go expensive racing suspension, but i do have a limited budget for this car. I am wondering if there is newer falcon or capri or mondeo suspension or somthing like that would will suit the old girl. . I would just love to strick it up my mate who has a 308 torana who i race with, he's got about 10secs a lap on me. But he can actually turn a corner, hehe

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated
