Default head gaskets

hey guys, long time no see, sorry i should come to this forum more but since the loss of my falcon ive becoming weak lol, so ive watched a few videos on how to replace gaskets, which i found out was rubber stripping like the stuff from fridges, seems easy enough to replace even for a person with little mechanical knowledge and the parts are cheap, best thing is is people who dont know this sell there cars for really cheap prices with blown head gaskets and so it seems like a good idea to buy a car with a blown head gasket, 4 quick questions, one what if i dont fix it and just drive it for a couple of months with the problem, i assume oil will leak and the engine wont run as perfectly as it should but not to many other problems, 2 if you do the trick with water to see where the leak is cant you just get silicone or some other substance and fill the gap, 3 is after a quick google search theres apperently some stuff you can use to put into the oil and it will fill the hole, even if its only short term has anyone had any luck with that, and 4 does buying a second hand gasket set completely defeat the purpose of replacing the gasket, as its life is short and will need replacing soon or can i go down to pick n payless and grab me some gaskets? cheers fellas ill hang around here a lot more now
