Only problem with them that you may not be aware of ... the gearboxes in them are prone to failure because Suzuki used the same gearbox from the 1.3L Swift in the 1.6L Baleno. Obviously due to the extra power from the bigger engine the gearboxes get smashed, mine failed around the same mileage as your one and I had to get it rebuilt, can't remember off hand how much ... but it wasn't cheap! My Brother-in-Law who's been a Mechanic for over 30 years did the job on the cheap and found out that it was a very common fault with the Baleno. I remember at the time he tried ringing around and getting a second hand gearbox from the wreckers .... most of the wreckers just laughed and said "if only", they reckon they could sell them every day if they could only get hold of them, they were all very aware of the Baleno gearbox issue. |
