Default Picked up a new rifle today

I have been waiting for my permit to acquire to come through and it did just before christmas.

The rifle is a Sako .223 with maddco heavy barrel, kainger trigger and a custom thumbhole stock. The scope is a 6.5 to 20x simmons. I guess that means there is not much Sako left

Intending to use this for military calibre shoots at the rifle range and long range bunny busting (hopefully out to 400m)

I used a austeyr F88 in the army and they were a miltarised version of the .223 round and were accurate for what they were. It was easy to hit the centre of the seen mass (a torso) at the range over 300 meters. I had a remington 788 in .222 and it was a good old thing too. This one replaces my single shot break barrel CBC .22 Hornet as a varminter as it was only good for about 160 - 180 meters. (But I could hit a coke can at 160 meters.)

Looking forward to shooting this and also joining in the .310 Cadet shoots too.
