hey guys,
this isnt another "how do i get my stock headunit out" thread.. so breathe a sigh of relief. Its more a, learn from my mistake thread. I had a VT a few years back, and the headunit removal process is identical to the AU. However my VT literally ejected when you had all 4 holes filled... The AU was less friendly. So before anyone goes in 'willy nilly' and does damage to their unit, i strongly recommend you dont push your coathangers in too far. Its just over 50mm according to gregorys... Of course you can pay 16 bucks / drive somewhere to use the correct tools, but boys like to tinker right... heres the outcome when you do venture past the clips.. snapped a leg off the fujitsu processor.. oops. :( gonna be a fiddly fix, but ill get there ;) while i got a new thread running, i thought id ask if anyone know where u can get a decent surround/bezel for a double din clarion unit that will fit the AUs unforgiving circular dash hole.... the one provided doesnt cut it.. Also keen to see different ways people mounted A/M units, preferably double din ;) cheers fellas. leigh
