Default Ford to Showcase Exciting New Local and International Product at Motorshow

Exciting new high performance FPV vehicles will share centre stage on the Ford stand at the Australian International Motor Show with the new BF Falcon, SY Territory and two surprise visitors from Europe.

"Almost 25 new Ford vehicles will be on display, and a highlight will be the public debut of the new BF Falcon range," said Ford Australia President Tom Gorman.

"Included amongst the new features are a number of 'under the skin' advancements, visual enhancements and new additions to the colour pallet."

The new BF Falcon will be represented at the show by a wide variety of offerings from the model range, including Futura, Fairmont Ghia, Fairlane G8, XR8 and the more powerful 245kW XR6T.

New SY derivatives of the chart topping Territory range will also be on display. Exciting developments to be revealed include Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) on rear wheel drive Territory Ghia (optional on other models in the RWD range) and a reverse camera available on Territory Ghia (available as an option on TS).

"The new BF Falcon and SY Territory models incorporate a host of changes aimed at delivering even more driving enjoyment and fuel economy advantages," said Mr. Gorman.

"Upgrades to the engines and transmissions that power the Falcon and Territory range will ensure that these locally produced vehicles remain at the technological forefront of Australian made vehicles."

Upgrades to the BF Falcon and SY Territory range include:

A reworked Barra 190 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine offering significant increases in fuel economy, more refinement and increases in power and torque
More power and torque in the turbocharged engine for the Falcon XR
More power and torque in the 3-valve SOHC V8 engine
A world-class ZF six-speed automatic transmission available in premium Falcon sedans and utes, and AWD versions of Territory
An improved ION four-speed automatic transmission
Introduction of the Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission on XR6 sedan
New exterior styling for the Falcon range, including Fairlane and Falcon Ute
New interior upgrades for all models
New wheel designs for XT, Futura, Fairmont, Fairmont Ghia, XR and XLS
New Fairlane G8 (replacing Fairlane G220)
Dynamic Stability Control on selected models in the Falcon range
New ABS/ TCS calibration
New levels of NVH refinement
Traction control standard on XR utes

Ford Performance Vehicles will reveal its aggressive new-look BF range.

The new-look lineup also features a host of mechanical upgrades, including a sophisticated new six-speed automatic available as an option on all models - including, for the first time, the turbo-charged F6 Typhoon and F6 Tornado models.

FPV will be the first Australian high-performance manufacturer to offer a six-speed automatic transmission. The state-of-the-art new ZF 6HP26 gearbox, which features multiple driving modes and a number of innovative driving and safety features, will be available as an option on all FPV models.

As was the case with the re-engineering of the Tremec T56 six-speed manual, the ZF six-speed automatic transmission has been tailored to suit the unique driving conditions and customer demands of the Australian high-performance vehicle market.

"Along with our new local product range, we'll also be showcasing new vehicles from Europe," said Mr. Gorman.

"It's an exciting combination of vehicles that will entice and excite visitors to the Australian International Motor Show.
