Default Brisbane Snake Warning - Post Flood

G'day all,

I'm sure you have all heard about the increased number of snake bites that have been occurring in and around the South East QLD area, and this is due, in part, to the flooding as well as hot, wet weather we are experiencing.

I live on the North Side of Brisbane and thought I wouldn't see any as it's mainly the flooded areas that are getting them.... until I walked into my lounge:

After a quick called to Snake Catchers Brisbane, we found (luckily) that it was a non-poisones green tree snake, and with the help of a neighbour, we cut a branch off a tree from the backyard, put it in front of him and coaxed him onto it by gently annoying the tail of the snake.

Finally managed to get him outside:

Above all else, please be very cautious and make sure you identify the snake before trying to remove it yourself. If it is a dangerous snake, ensure you call someone who is qualified to remove it.

Below are the contact details of the people we used to advise us on the snake.

Snake Catchers Brisbane:
0438 688 291
Provides 24 hr assistance to residents and businesses of Brisbane and Ipswich with snake related concerns.

Additionally the service offers expert advice and assistance with other wildlife such as brush turkeys and swooping birds.

Regards,

GSAU
