Police found the female swan with an open wound to the head at Queens Park in Moonee Ponds about 3.40pm on Wednesday. Witnesses told police they saw four male and two female teenagers throwing rocks at the swan as it was protecting its eggs. The dead swan's mate is now guarding the nest after losing his companion. - What annoys me as that the cops say they had witnesses, who saw 6 people doing this. Why did they not act upon it? Why did they not call the cops. Human nature at its finest..........
