This has been looked at a few times over the years but this may be a bit different. My wifes Cougar has a surge, what appears to happen is when under extreme load (goining hard uphill) it changes up and down radically and really hammers when it changes back (obviously an auto). Sometimes when driving steady uphill it it will change up and down, however, much more than normal there is also some involuntary changes to engine revs. I can drive it around gently with no issues at all. If I was to guess I would think a computer control for the auto, but unsure how they work.
What I am hoping for is all you Cougar owners with some spare time might like to give it some thought. Thanks in anticipation. |
