Default That Dashboard Screen

I just thought I'd start a thread on this, I've done a bit of googling but can't really find much info on it - if this yields no such luck then its no biggy.

Was just wondering if it is at all possible to "hack" into the big LCD screen on my dash (between the tacho & speedo) to show further information than it currently does.

For example, I find it kind of redundant and not at all useful to have a top-down view of my car on the screen while driving. What I would like is some sort of digital speedo, or a permanent coolant temp display (rather than having to go through the menu to get it).

Would also like to know if its at all possible to get some form of GPS onto it?

And last but not least, I've heard & read reports from people that they've been able to read SMS received on that screen - which never seems to work at all, am I just taking the bait by believing it or is it in fact true? And if it is true, how do I get it to work because I can't find any info in the manual regarding it.
